In late 2020 the Libraries received a grant from the American Library Association that provided additional resources and motivation for the Libraries to expand the sustainability related work they had started. The primary goal of the grant was to "help libraries engage their communities in programs and conversations that address the climate crisis." To learn more about the grant, visit the ALA Resilient Communities: Libraries Respond to Climate Change's website.
This guide will provide information on what the Libraries are working on in regards to sustainability, provide resources on various sustainability topics, and highlight sustainability work on the Binghamton University campus.
As part of the grant we received access to a few climate related films. Most of these will be used for streaming events, but there are also a couple we were able to get as DVDs to add to the collection so people can check them out and watch at home.
The calendar below shows sustainability related events and activities happening both at the Libraries and throughout campus. If you would like your event to be shared here, please send us a note at sushub@binghamton.edu.
