National, state and county level agricultural statistics.
- Census of Agriculture
Provides uniform agricultural data every 5 years, down to the county level. Online back to 1840. Bartle Library has various years of both the national Census and New York Census; check the library catalog for details.
- USDA Economic Research Service
Studies a variety of issues relating to food prices, production, and supply, and its effect on the economy.
- New York Agriculture Statistics (NASS)
Compiles all the statistics for the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets.
- FAOStats
International statistics in: production, trade, food-balance sheets, food aid shipments, fertilizer and pesticides, land use and irrigation, forest and fishery products, agricultural machinery and population.
Crime and justice
- Bureau of Justice Statistics (Department of Justice)
- Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics
Provides national level data on arrests, types of crimes, public opinion, sentencing and more (Gov Docs J 29.9/6: yr. 1973-2002)
- Bureau of Prisons: Research and Reports

Economy
- Bureau of Economic Analysis
Timely economic data, covering a wide variety of national indicators.
- USDA Economic Research Service
Studies a variety of issues relating to food prices, production, and supply, and its effect on the economy.
- Economic Census
5 year survey to provide a national snapshot of the economy, from the national to local level. Bartle Library also has this in print, check InfoLINK for details.
- Council of Economic Advisers
Presidential advisory group which produces a variety of reports. For example:

Education
- National Center for Educational Statistics
Collects, analyzes and distributes education statistics covering K-university level education for the U.S. and all states. Also see, Digest of Education Statistics (annual reports, with statistics covering K-university education) and Condition of Education (covers a wide variety of indicators on the state of the U.S. educational system). - New York Department of Education. Use the Topics, A-Z index to navigate to data. Also see, Report Cards for data on schools or districts, and DataNYSED which provides assessment (english language arts and math) and enrollment data and graduation rates for schools by district, individual school or county. Archival data is available back to 2005-2006 school year.

- Bureau of Labor Statistics
Primary source of federal statistics relating to all aspects of the labor market.
- Monthly Labor Review
Provides relevant articles, as well as providing quick statistical tables on the current national labor market (Bartle Library Bound and Annex Periodicals, 1938-2006)

Reports and articles that focus on occupational and salary growth.

NCHS is the largest clearinghouse for health data in the US. This is a topical listing of their data sets and reports.
- Childstats.gov
Federal Inter-agency Forum on Child and Family Statistics monitors indicators of children's well being in U.S and collect data from a variety of sources that indicate this
- Vital Statistics of the United States
Natality, mortality, marriage and divorce rates.
