The Asian American Oral History Collective is a group of Asian-American artists and organizers dedicated to the use of oral history to share the stories of Asian-American communities that are often untold or hidden. Our oral history project are in support of and collaboration with social movements. As artists who work across many mediums, including video/film, visual art, performance and music, our goals are to create an accessible way of sharing the oral histories of low-income and marginalized communities and community members. We aim to share these oral histories through a range of storytelling media and to create spaces of discussion and conversation around issues central to Asian-American communities across New York City.
