IDA PROJECT GUIDELINES

These procedures apply to the IDA Documents collection, i.e., the spiral bound items in Princeton boxes.

  1. Search Alma for a matching record. If the item is a duplicate, please set it aside, so it can be assessed by the bibliographer.
    • DO NOT catalog any serials or photocopied journal articles. These materials should be set aside.
  1. Search OCLC for matching record. If there is one, update the record with the fields outlined below, then export it to Alma and add IDA template information.
  • From the Edit menu, choose Expand from template. Choose the appropriate IDA template and click OK.
  1. If no matching records can be found, create record an original record on OCLC. Export it to Alma and add the IDA template as above.

*** NOTE: Unpublished manuscripts will have “t” as record type and will only have $c in the 260 field.
