A national repository of data on the nonprofit sector in the United States. You must register to obtain their data files. - Council on Foundations
A nonprofit membership association of grantmaking foundations and corporations. Many of their research report and white papers are available on their site.
IRS 990 Forms
- Charities Bureau (NYS Attorney General)
Database of charities and fundraising professionals in NYS. For charities, links are given to filed NYS paperwork, such as 990 forms.
- Guidestar
Provides access to 990 forms, as well as reports and some analysis to non-profits efficiency. Registration required to use.
- ProPublica Non-Profit Explorer
Allows searching of all 990 forms filed with the IRS since 2001. Downloading allowed, and multiple search options given.
