ORCID @ Binghamton University

This guide is intended for faculty and student researchers. It contains information about the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) registry, including how to get, use, and connect your ORCID iD.

Accessing ORCID Connection page

Before you can create or connect your ORCID iD with Binghamton University, you'll need to access the ORCID Connection page through the university's portal. Follow the steps below to reach the ORCID Connect page:

1. Navigate to Binghamton University Portal: Start by visiting the myBinghamton page in your web browser.

2. Access Dropdown Menu: Once on the myBinghamton page, hover your cursor over the 'Other' section located on the top menu bar. This action will prompt a dropdown menu to appear.

 

 
 

3. Select ORCID Connect: From the options displayed in the dropdown menu, locate and click on 'ORCID Connect'. This selection will direct you to the page where you can initiate the process of creating or connecting your ORCID iD with Binghamton University.

 

 
 
 

Connecting ORCID Account (For Users with Existing ORCID)

If you already have an ORCID iD and want to connect it to your Binghamton University account, follow the steps below:

1. Access Through Institution: Click on "Access Through Institution" to proceed.

 

 

2. Enter Organization Name: In the organization name box, type 'Binghamton University'.

 

3. Redirect to Binghamton CAS: You will be redirected to the Binghamton Central Authentication System (CAS). Enter your credentials and login.

 

 

4. Accept Terms and Conditions: Review the terms and conditions, accept them, and click 'Create ORCID Account.'

 

5. Authorize Access: Finally, click 'Authorize Access' to grant Binghamton University access to your ORCID iD.

 
6. ORCID iD Successfully Linked: Your ORCID iD has been successfully linked with Binghamton University.
