Cataloging photocopies

A photocopy of a book or a thesis should get a separate record from the original.

As in the example record, only two fields need to be changed in the photocopy record:

Form : r (print reproduction)

533: Photocopy. (If information about where and when the photocopy was produced, such as if it was done by UMI, exists, include it here).

The date in the header does not need to be changed. Use the date of the original book. The date of the photocopy does not matter.
