Wikipedia
Wikipedia is ok to use to gather background information on a topic you know nothing about, and is also a good way to find search terms for your topic. Studies have shown that it is just as accurate as a printed encyclopedia. However, it is on the web and anyone can edit the entries. The information on the pages you see today may not be the same information you see tomorrow. So wikipedia is not a reliable resource and cannot be cited in a research paper.
Please see the tutorial, "Using Wikipedia for Academic Research" to give you ideas on how to appropriately use wikipedia to aid you in your research process.
